For both adults and children, living with undiagnosed ADHD or Autism can feel like fighting a battle without a clear map. Challenges with focus, emotional regulation, social interactions, or daily routines may have been present for years without understanding the “why” behind them.
At Battlefield Counseling, our ADHD and Autism assessments are designed to bring clarity for individuals of all ages. For children, an early assessment can help parents, caregivers, and teachers provide the right support to help them thrive at home and in school. For adults, a proper assessment can uncover the root of lifelong patterns and open the door to strategies and tools that truly fit.
Our process is thorough and compassionate. We combine interviews, questionnaires, and observations to get a full picture—not just symptoms, but how those symptoms impact everyday life. From there, we work with you to create a plan for support, whether that includes therapy, coaching, lifestyle changes, or other resources.
We also offer the option of online assessments, making the process accessible and convenient for families and individuals. Whether you are seeking answers for yourself or your child, we walk with you every step of the way.
You don’t have to navigate this battlefield alone. Together, we can uncover strengths, remove barriers, and build a path toward thriving—for you and for your family.

Why an Assessment Matters
One of the first steps in supporting ADHD or Autism is getting a clear and accurate understanding of what’s really going on. At Battlefield Counseling, we offer thorough assessments to help identify the specific symptoms and challenges you or your loved one may be experiencing.
Our process is compassionate and personalized. We use a combination of interviews, questionnaires, and observations to look at behavior, thinking patterns, and emotional well-being. This helps us see the full picture—not just a list of symptoms, but how those symptoms impact everyday life.
Getting a proper assessment is more than a diagnosis; it’s the foundation for creating strategies and support that truly fit. Whether you’re in North Carolina or facing your own personal battlefield anywhere, we are here to help you gain clarity and take the next steps with confidence.

ADHD & Autism Assessments
Cost of Services
Our licensed clinicians specialize in neurodivergence and are highly qualified to guide you through this process. The assessment and screening services are specifically for adults (18+) who believe they may have ADHD or be Autistic. We have assessment and treatment services for Pediatric ADHD for ages 9-17 as well. We offer two (2) options for those seeking validation of their neurodivergence for adults and an option for those ages 9-17.
Option 1: Adult Neurodivergence Screening (“Neuro Screening”)
Cost: $350
Time: 90 minutes
Service: No diagnosis provided
-
The screening consists of questions regarding your traits, history, and challenges only in relation to ADHD and autism.
-
A quick review of your information is compared to DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.
-
There is typically no waiting time for the screening report.
-
Your provider will discuss their findings and advise whether continuing with the diagnostic assessment (Option 2) is warranted.
-
Screenings CANNOT be submitted for insurance reimbursement. Services are Self Pay
Option 2: Adult Diagnostic Clinical Assessment
Cost: $1,000
Time: 180 minutes in interview + 30-minute follow-up session
Service: Formal diagnosis and recommendations provided
Tool: Adult ADHD-Autism Diagnostic Interview (AADI)
-
The Adult ADHD-Autism Diagnostic Interview is a clinical assessment method designed specifically for identifying ADHD, autism, and co-occurring presentations (AuDHD) in adults.
-
Key Features:
-
Adult-Centered Approach: Unlike tools designed for children and adapted for adults, the AADI was created specifically for adult presentations, accounting for developmental masking, compensatory strategies, and life experience factors.
-
Culturally Responsive: Incorporates systematic consideration of cultural, gender, and identity factors that influence neurodivergent presentation and recognition.
-
Strengths-Based: Emphasizes individual neurological profiles and environmental fit rather than deficit-focused assessment.
-
Comprehensive Scope: Addresses not only core diagnostic criteria but also masking behaviors, sensory processing differences, and pathological demand avoidance patterns.
-
-
Fee covers the time taken for assessment interview, all additional time spent completing documentation or related tasks, and follow-up session.
-
A thorough review of your information is cross-examined with common misdiagnoses then compared to DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.
-
A comprehensive diagnostic report based on the data acquired during the assessment process is completed and a copy provided to you.
-
The wait time for the diagnostic report ranges from only 2 – 4 weeks.
-
At the follow-up session, your provider will discuss their findings and provide a copy of the assessment for you to review and approve.
-
This assessment can't be submitted for insurance reimbursement. These services are all Self Pay.
This 2-part system allows you to receive services at a speed that is comfortable for you. It also allows you to divide the cost over time. If your screening indicates that continuing with the diagnosis is not warranted, or the screening is sufficient to satisfy your needs, you do not have to spend any additional time or money completing the comprehensive assessment.

Option 3: Pediatric (Ages 9-17) Diagnostic Clinical Assessment

Cost: $750
Time: 120 minutes across multiple sessions + 30-minute caregiver feedback session
Service: Formal diagnosis and recommendations provided
Tool: NICHQ Vanderbilt Assessment Scales, Clinical Interviews, and Behavioral Observation
-
The Pediatric Diagnostic Clinical Assessment is designed to identify ADHD in children and adolescents ages 9 to 17. This process helps families better understand their child's behavior, learning style, and emotional needs through a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate lens.
-
Key Features:
-
Developmentally Informed: We use validated tools designed for children and adolescents, including parent/caregiver and teacher input. Assessments are tailored to consider the child's age, stage of development, and environment (home, school, and social settings).
-
Family-Centered Approach: Parents and caregivers are included every step of the way from intake to feedback. This helps ensure that the assessment captures the full context of your child's life experiences.
-
Comprehensive Scope: The assessment includes structured interviews, standardized questionnaires, behavioral observations, and review of academic or medical records when available.
-
