April is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A) and a proud graduate of Liberty University with a Master of Arts degree in Human Services Counseling and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Throughout her career she has worked with children, teens, young adults, and geriatric populations. She is culturally aware and sensitive to people from diverse cultural, religious, genders, and racial backgrounds. She believes that people just want to be heard and accepted in a nonjudgmental environment free from biases and prejudices.  Her philosophy is that building rapport with clients and establishing a therapeutic relationship is the most important part of counseling. It is vital in helping people find healing and meaning for their lives, which helps them overcome life’s challenges and setbacks. In addition, she believes people are able to solve their own problems, if given the opportunity to do so in a safe environment. Theoretical perspectives that she most commonly rely upon are CBT, Play Therapy, DBT and Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Spiritual Integration.

She is available to see clients through telehealth and in person during some daytime hours, but mostly Fridays and Saturdays.
